The city of Brazil is located in west central Indiana, about 20 miles from the Illinois border. We are 10 miles east of Terre Haute and 70 miles west of Indianapolis.Brazil is the county seat of Clay County. Clay County's claim to fame was it's coal and clay mines, most of the mines are now closed.
